According to the latest official notice, the General Studies Preliminary Examination has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions and will now be conducted on 09 August 2026 (Sunday).
GPSC Exam Date Revised Due to Heavy Rainfall
GPSC stated that the decision was taken considering the heavy rainfall across Gujarat and the weather department’s forecast. To ensure the safety and convenience of candidates, the Commission has postponed the preliminary examination.

A total of 34 recruitment advertisements have been affected, including posts such as : Veterinary Officer, Principal (Nursing Service), Nursing Superintendent, Women and Child Officer, Deputy Director, Assistant Engineer (Civil & Mechanical), Research Officer, Graduate Engineer Trainee, Drug Inspector, Estate Officer, ICT Officer, Legal Officer, Administrative Officer, Gujarat Education Service Class-1, And several other Class-1 and Class-2 government posts.

According to the official notification, Gujarat has been experiencing heavy rainfall, and the India Meteorological Department has also forecast continued rainfall. Keeping candidates’ safety and travel difficulties in mind, GPSC decided to revise the examination schedule.
